Alhaji Maiunguwa Sani (Maiunguwar Kofar Mazugal)
Alhaji Maiunguwa Sani and Malam Garba Maisikeli were the two dynamic duos and best known giants of Kofar Mazugal. While one kept Mazugal safe and enforced discipline among the residents, the other inspired the residents towards acquisitions of education. Special gratitude to Abdullahi Sani Maiunguwa for his efforts in cementing the friendship foundations established by the two finding fathers of our families. May Allah grant and reward both of them wirh Jannah Ameen. |
Alhaji Aminu Dantata
Of all the members of first Dantata generation, with the exception of (Late Alhaji Abdullahi Dantata and Alhaji Ahmadu Dantata), Aminu Danata was the closest to Malam Garba Maisikeli. The Maisikeli family is eternally grafeful for the care and affection Alhaji Aminu Dantata has shown to Malam Garba Maisikeli during his old age until his return to his creator Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. |
Alhaji Mamman Tela
Alhaji Mamman Tela was one of the closest friends of Malam Garba Maisikeli. Apart from their impromptu meetings, the two were always seen together in front of the mosque after Salat, discussing religious topics. As a child, I grew up watching the two debate topics of interest. Their debate was not based on disrespect or conflict, but based on intellectual challenge. After debate duels, you will see the two joyfully sitting and discussing and laughing over other issues. I will always remember going to his house when Eidul-Fitri approaches where he will measure one of us and then estimate the amount of yards (Yankin Kayan Salla) that will be needed for (Kayan Salla). Other fond memories include calling each and every child from Maisikeli family as "Muhammadu" and his usual utterance during debates where he will be heard continuously uttering "AJAB, AJAB"

Alhaji Ahmadi Nabagadaho Kofar Mazugal
Alhaji Ahmadi Nabagadaho was a humble and gentle person whose life was centred around family, 'Sana'a', neighbours and friends. Alhaji Ahmadi was a friend and a student of Malam Garba Maisikeli. I could remember his evening visits to take lessons from Malam Garba Maisikeli in the evening after Asr prayers. The relationship between Malam Garba Maisikeli and Malam Ahmadi was that of mutual respect. |
Alhaji Yaro Magini
Alhaji Yaro is one of the closest friends of Malam Garba Maisikeli. He would be seen busy in construction projects during the day and a joyful and rambunctious person in the evening. He was a person of good humour and was indeed a very sociable person and one of the closest confidents Malam Garba Maisikeli had. Yaro Magini and Malam Garba Maisikeli would always be seen sitting on "Dakali" each night talking about family issues and other worldly affairs. |
Malam Garba Maikanwa
Garba Maikanwa was a charismatic and principled person. Although financially constrained, he did not nurse any grudge. He accepted and appreciated life. His demeanor portrayed satisfaction and acceptance of Qadr. Although he was a "Faqeer", he was endowed with solid Islamic knowledge. Malam Garba Maikanwa was thought to have been one of the last generations of freed slaves who actually experienced slavery of yester years. I can remember seeing him returning with bunch of his donkeys carrying farm harvest or working hard around 'Masallaci" cleaning and dusting mats. |
Alhaji Kabiru Hanga
Alhaji Kabiru has been a good friend to the entire family of Malam Garba Maisikeli. He singlehandedly brought (Maisikeli and Hanga) families together through Muhammad (Shambaki) Garba. Over years Alhaji Kabiru has shown unshakable friendship to all the Maisikeli clan, and exemplified what a true friendship is.

Alhaji Mahdi Abubakar Sadiq
Alhaji Mahdi is a confident and good friend to Sayyed Maisikeli. This friendship was an extension from the previous generation. Mahdi's father Malam Abubakar and Malam Garba Maisikeli were close friends who shared a common zeal for acquiring and sharing of knowledge. It was a great feast watching and listening to these great men discuss Astronomical phenomena and other Islamic issues. May Allah grant and reward both of them wirh Jannah Ameen. |
